The process of transferring your home business operation to the internet
Once you have decided on and built your home business, at some point you will need to decide if you are going to "make the jump" to the internet and conduct some or most of
your business online. The benefits of doing so are enormous. There are literally millions of people online and the average internet user is well educated and has disposable income.
The number of potential prospects and customers online is staggering. To neglect this arena would probably not be healthy for any upstart home business.
Some home business operations, such as a network marketing business run from your home, are very well suited to being transferred to the internet. Many of the activities this type of business entailed, such as
lead generation or prospecting by regular postal mail, can be done online for a fraction of the cost. Renting an opt-in list or e-mail newsletter can be quite inexpensive and effective. You will still be working from the
comfort of your home, of course, but you will be using different tools such as web sites, autoresponders, ezines, newsgroups and classified ads. In addition to the promotional aspect, there is also a fantastic number of tools which allow you to
research your competition online. You may start out slow at first but once you establish your internet presence
you will soon wonder how your home business survived without it.
To go into more detail about the process of transfering your home business onto the internet, here is an article by author Joe Reinbold entitled :My Home Business is Too Small for the Web!".
More information about Joe is available at the resource box located at the end of the article.
I have heard it time and time again. I might have said it myself at one time! "My business isn't big enough to put on the worldwide web!" Why not? If you are running a mail order, network marketing, or other type business from your home, why not on the Web? Why not have your business open 24 hours a day, seven days a week? Plus you are going to save a heck of a lot of money in postage, printing and envelopes!
