.....(continued from previous page)..This was a major turning point because now I finally had enouph money to advertise and buy
some of the programs I desperately needed. Eventually I could even upgrade my PC and buy leads for my home business. It was great!
With these added (albeit modest) resources, I was now able to grow my home based business enterprise at a slightly accelerated rate. And as i earned more money, I had more to put back in the business, and this money was a tax write off on top of that. Now I could
finally see why Robert Kiyosaki is so adamant about recommending that everyone have their own business, even if they remain an employee of somebody else.
You have to 'mind your own business' he would say. He also said that people in the 'E-Quadrant' (employee quadrant) ended up paying about half of
their income in taxes, and they paid the government first, while a business owner not only paid dramatically less in taxes but also had the luxury of paying himself and his business first.
In any case, I began to build up my downline community or my sales force or my organization or whatever you wish to call it.
Whe I first called leads, I had some problems with confidence and while I was trying to train my doanline I realized that
some of my people did also. But as they called more and more, I would hear comments like: "I used to be incredibly nervous about picking up the phone and convincing prospects to join the company. I loved and believed in the products and the company, but I felt unsure about getting everything right. When I finally got around to making calls,
I often thought that prospects felt my lack of confidence and as a result I had little success".
On the other side of the coin, ome people just could not seem to make enouph phone calls. I would hear comments such as:
"I know that recruiting is just a numbers game and that the more people you call, the more people you will recruit. But, I frankly did not have enough time at night to make a lot of calls. By the time I got someone at home and then went through my entire presentation, I could only talk to one or two people a week. I was lucky if I signed up one distributor in a two-month period".
