That worked for many other resources that I needed as well. Since I had virtually no advertisement budget, I found that when I needed to promote my home business website that I could find plenty of ways that were free, although they did chew up that other precious asset called time. Nonetheless, I found I could submit my websites to literally hundreds of free inclusion web directories and forums, as well as write articles about my site's content. The article writing was perhaps the most rewarding of all. It was indeed time consuming because you had to individually submit the article to different webmaster content directories, newsletters, Yahoo article announcement mailing lists, individual websites and other such resources after writing the article. But it was gratifying to see all of that hard work pay off. Again, being drastically underfunded I was impressed to see that you could indeed drive visitors to your website for free if you were willing to work at it. Because I was part of a Network marketing company the training was done to a small degree online but was primarily conducted by conference calls. I had plenty of time to be on these calls and I found them to be very helpful and motivating. I got a lot of good ideas on the calls from people who had walked my path before me. On one of the calls it was suggested to pass it brochures with your web address. I had a stack of brochures that I received with my starter kit so I proceeced to do just that. I got my first 'autoshipment' of a prodct that way. Sonn thereafter I got a few more sales from internet efforts and my home business was finally starting to take off. When I got my first distributor I was really excited! I just kept plugging away in this fashion, day after day, hour after hour untill eventually, after perhaps five to six months, I was recieving some substantial checks. This was still just enouph for me to get by, however, since my savings was by this time completely gone. So I was still as motivated as ever, knowing that I could now sustain myself but I still did not have enouph extra money from my home business to go out and see a movie or eat healthy food. So I kept my nose to the grindstone and kept working. I spent a lot of time reading free tutorials and articles written by experts in their respective fields. I continued the process of slowly educating myself about both the internet and netwok marketing in general. I slowly built a downline while at the same time gradually building my web presence. I did whatever I could do that was free, such as post to message boards, ffa's, free classified ad sites, newsgroups (I learned the hard way, I got flamed hard), bulletin boards and other similiar resources. I even tried free opt-in lists to try to recruit people into my enterprise, although these proved to be less than sucessful, unfortunately. Nevertheless, I learned a great deal in the whole process of trial and error. Eventuall, after much hard work as well as a little blood, sweat and tears, I managed to start earning a little more from my home business than just simply my basic living expenses. Next Page |
