Starting Your Home Based Business:The Basics
The following is a Free Reprint Article. However, in order to be in compliance with the copywrite, there must be a live(clickable)
link back to home-business-match.com somewhere on the article page.
When I started my home business venture, I had virtually no money to launch the business. I was not working at the time,
and I had enouph to live on for perhaps four months, but nothing left over with which to really market and advertise.
However, I did have access to the internet (albeit a dial-up connection that would sometimes cut out on me) and a phone line,
so I used these meagre resources for my promotional efforts. Since I only had one phone line, I can remember crawling under my
desk to unplug the phone line so I could plug it into the computer for internet access. I lived in a cramped studio apartment.
I had very little in a material sense to help me get my business off the ground. But I did have a lot of determination and drive to better my life.
The internet and the phone proved to be enouph, however. I was able to focus all of my attention on contacting people over the internet.
Because my business was Network marketing, this proved to be very important indeed. In some ways my spartan situation made me more focused and gave me added
motivation. I was hungry, after all. Looking around at my sparse and nearly impoverished conditions fueled my fire to better my life and build my business.
I treated every contact like they were the most important person in the world, which they kind of were at that particular time.
It was touph and lonely as I worked long hours on the computer with my slow internet connection but it was also inspiring,
knowing that I was essentially putting my destiny in my own hands for once in my life, and not depending on the quick fix of a paycheck.
I had barely enouph money for my basic bills. I could scrape by and eat (I usually bought whatever was on sale) and at times
my phone line almost got shut off. I did not even have enouph funds to upgrade my personal computer which was a very old machine that
had been "Frankensteined" together from parts of other computers. It had only 2 MB of disk space to begin with and eventually I used most of that
tiny amount up so I actually had to delete some programs temporarily to make room for a new program that I might use for a week, then delete
so that I could re-install the more important program. of course I could only afford freeware so I went to tucows.com and downloads.com
whenever I needed a free email program or whatever. I will say this, the internet has a lot of free resources that can help the
home business entrepreneur if you have time to look for them. Search engines like Google and MSN proved to be major allies.
