  • Keys of Link Building for your Home Business website (part four)

(continued from previous page)....Some forums and message boards are spidered or 'crawled' by the search engines and some are not. To get the best ones, type in 'forums' into a search engine and choose a relevant forum from the top pages of the result. Thus you will be more assured of a forum that has some SEO benefit to you. Some people get links to their site from guestbooks, but I do not recommend this method. For one thing it is sometimes considered outside of netequatte. Furthermore your site url will be on a page with a mishmash of unrelated sites, and this will not help your search engine positioning. If you have some extra money in your home business marketing budget, you could also take a big shortcut and simply buy text links to your site from a good site such as textlinkbrokers.com.

You can choose the pagerank that you wish to be linked from and you also get to choose your link title or "anchor tag text" and in many cases a full description. This is perhaps the quickest way I know of to generate link popularity and Google pagerank quickly but it is also rather expense compared to some other methods. Expect to pay at least $50 a month for quality links. A positive though is that you will probably be obtaining a link from an 'authority' site that has been around for a while and has good credibility in the eyes of the search engines.

The possible negative side to this method is that you never know if the search engines will eventually filter these links. I have noticed that some text link brokers are covering themselves by making the links appear more natural and varying the anchor tags from page to page in a random fashion, but this method is not without risk. You can also buy links individually from other sites and in online malls. Buying links individually from other sites carries much the same risks and benefits as buying from a broker while. You may pay less but you will probably have to do more work to find a good deal. A generally do not recommend buying links in an online mall unless you see an exceptionally good deal. The links are rarely relevent and the traffic you get is rarely targeted. Few people on an online mall browsing a sports equipment site will be interested in your consulting service, for example.
