There are numerous core differences between those who are employees, those whom are self employed and individuals who are business home owners.
As a general rule of thumb, those who are employees generally seek security. They feel they must have a paycheck and feel that being their own boss,
putting up money for their own home business venture or raising money for such an enterprise is simply too risky.
You might even say that they are addicted to recieving a paycheck on a regular basis. They are dependent on that so-called security.
Individuals who are self employed, such as plumbers and dentists fall into another category entirely.
These people are often perfectionists who think that only they can 'do the job right'.
The problem, as Robert Kiyosaki has pointed out in his books, is that when an
individual such as this goes on vacation, so does his income. While technically he or she could hire
employees generally they do not trust anyone else to do the job right.
They seem to believe that they are the only ones who are capable of doing
the job in the right way. They often work very hard, and get paid well on an hourly basis, but it is not the type of business that sell well because for the most part you are selling a high-paying job
instead of a business where you can simply hand the reigns over to someone else and then collect a residual or recurring income, or a business that you can sell for a substantial amount of money.
You essentially just own a good job, and in fact this may be good for some individuals. But it would be hard to retire comfortably with this particular business setup.
