Home Business strategies and Pay Per Click Advertising
When looking for ways to promote your Home Business, your focus will eventually go to online advertising tactics. You will probably want to start with free online advertising such as the major search engines like Google and free classifieds or ezines.
But at some point you may want to consider pay per click or pay for performance advertising through vehicles such as Overture and the Google Adwords. In fact, PPC Search Engines can be some of the best advertising values available on the web.
In some cases you can get visitors for just a penny each. Imagine that!
The reason PPC engines can be such a good value is partially because it is very easy to reach your target market with type of advertising. In some mediums, such as T.V. and Radio, for example, you may be reaching many peopel uninterested in your product. This is not effecient marketing,
and many advertising dollars are wasted that could be better spent building your Home Business. But PPC Search Engines, on the other hand, allow you to reach only targeting customers, people who have already punched in a descriptive keyword or phrase
that is relevant to your business. You can't get much more targeted than that. Newsletter advertising is one of the few methods that come to mind which could be as targeted.
Remeber that your goal is more sales, not just more clicks, and so for this reason you want to be highly targeted. You can't afford to hope that just a few people might be interested.
Also for this reason you may want to make it obvious from your description that you are selling something, thus eliminating many web surfers that are not serious about buying anything.
Focus on attracting the ideal prospect to your website to get the most bang for your buck.
Here is essentially how pay-per-click Search Engines work: your submit what title and description you want, decide on a particular keyword that web surfers must imput for your listing to show up, and then bid against other website owners or webmasters for its rank in theose particular search results. Your bid therefore equals the dollar or cent amount you will pay for each click on your site listing.
The amount you bid is the amount you pay for each person who clicks on your link.
Note that bids for the more common keywords are often very high, often a dollar or more per click. How people can afford to pay the higher amounts is beyond me.
When you have opened up your PPC account, you should begin researching your keywords. You should already have a number of relevant words and/or phrases in mind.
Use the Keyword Suggestion Tool to see how often in the last month your keyword was searched.
When writing your title, it is important to make it as catchy as possible. Next write your description, which is essentially an advertisement. Include the search term within the description if you can as this will help. Make sure to include the benefits of your product or service in the description.
Try to find out the average conversion ratio of the page you are linking to, and bid accordingly. If you are not sure you may want to use a a one percent conversion ratio as a default.
You will want to bid as little as possible for the highest number of targeted visitors so knowing facts like which keywords convert well for your site are very inportant.
If you cannot afford page one search listings, make an attempt to get within the first 5 or 10 listings on page 2.
For top results, bid on as many good keywords as you possibly can.
