Instead, think of it this way: you are about to call someone on the phone who may be a potential partner, and you are going to make a friend either way. Even if this indivudual dooes not join your home business, you have made a friend, and that person may even refer another potential partner to you, because that is what friends are for. When you use words such as 'attack' and phrases like "I will tear into this list right away" may put you in the wrong state of mind from the beginning. And regarding your mind-set, when bringing someone into your MLM home based business do not be very attached to them being a "closer" kind of distributor immedietly. Instead, you may wish to present your opportunity as more of a shopping club, particularly if they happens to be women. In any case, women make the vast majority of buying decisions in America, and when they like a product, they usually tell their friends all about it. Communication is, after all, generally a feminine trait. So allow them ease into the opportunity through the products, and let her enjoy the products while not feeling at all pressured to any more than that. If she likes them then you can belive that she will let her friends know too. And they will tell their friends, etc. Later on you can slowly ease her into more of leader-type position, if she is comfortable with this aspect of the business. And if not, don't worry, because you still need to move products, not simply sign up new distributors, correct? As a matter of fact certain leading network marketers state that you should actually build your customer base first, then try to sign up distributors from that base. This makes sense because once people are on your products they obviously trust your company and have already used their credit card with you, etc. and are more likely to feel comfortable doing more business with you. They probably already have a feel for your customer service and mission statement as well. It will only then be anatural choice to choose your company to build a home business around. |
