Ways to Find Customers
For many entrepreneurs, one of the most difficult aspects of starting a Home Business is finding new customers and retaining them.
Having a good product or service that you are certain that people will need is just the beginning. You have to know how to attract customers.
First think about who would make the perfect customer, who your target market is, in other words. Then put your business, or yourself, in their path.
Don't forget that may sales happen by way of good, old fashion word of mouth. The more often your prospective customers hear about you, the better the chance that they will buy from you. So be persistent.
Also make sure to utilize classified ads in newspapers and the little local papers, like the "Thrifty Nickel" or the "Penny Saver" or whatever it is called in your area.
Look for potential customers and send those folks personalized postcards, brochures or literature letting them know about the product or service that you feature.
Always keep on the lookout for events that may bring your potential market together, like a Crafts fair, for example.
You can browse the local paper and/or community bulletin board to find out which organizations hold events that may bring your target market together.
If you have a product, be sure to hand out free samples and ask the recipients to let their friends know if they are pleased. This a good viral marketing technique Or, if your Home Business is a consultant business, perhaps you could give away some free advice to get the ball rolling
You can also ask your friends if they know of people who can use your product or service, or who might know others who could. You could even offer your friends or associates a finders' fee for referrals that turn into sales.
