  • Using affiliate programs effectively with your Home Business site

When you have planned and built your home business website you will presumably have a central service or product that your home business specializes in as the centerpiece of the site. While this product or service should in fact be your main focus, you may very well want to add a related (but non-competing) product or service to compliment your existing ones. This is where an affiliate program can be advantageous to add another stream of income to your home business. In addition to adding the affiliate program text link or banner to your home business website, you can also add it to your e-newsletter. In this way you have the perfect back-end product situation in which you can repeatedly profit from your existing customer base. After exposing your customer base to one affiliate program, you can later join other affiliate programs and continue the process of setting up your affiliate program link in your e-newsletter and elsewhere to profit further. The beauty of this is that your customer base benfits from recieving information about complimentary products and services so you do not have to feel like you are imposing on them as long as you do not overwhelm them with too many offers at a time. You should be able to find plenty of affiliate programs which are complimentary to your Home Business. For example, if your home business is a flower delivery service, then you may want to join an affiliate program which markets boxes chocolate. You can put their banner or text link on your site and gain additional cash flow. Or if your website is for web hosting, you may want to join an affiliate program which offers webmaster tools. Again the key is complimentary but non-competing. There are dozens of affiliate programs out there to choose from. Choose wisely, because some are definately better than others. Among the key questions to ask are: How often do you get paid? What is the minimum quota of sales volume that must be achieved to recieve a check? Are the stats real time and is there a mechanism to track visitors from your site that visited the affiliate site but bought several days later? For more information about affiliate programs and resources, here is an article from Brett Krkosska at Home Business tools. More information about Brett is available at the end of the article: prod
